MEET THE DESIGNER
Founder and Lead Designer, Allison Stackpole is a seasoned jewelry artist. Best known for her most recent commission work in 2011 requested by Premier Exhibitions, Allison designed an exclusive line of coal jewelry to honor and commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Titanic. Her pieces can be found in Titanic exhibitions around the world.
Today, she continues to stand out in the design world as she shares her whistle, harmonica and pitch pipe collections in her newest line, BLO Vintage. Her passion for all things vintage and her support for the Eco-fashion movement is exhibited in her newest collections.
Allison's vision came to her after years of carrying the whistle her mother gave to her as she embarked on her college journey. The whistle she was given was the same whistle her mother received back in 1960. This heirloom signified love; a mother-daughter connection as well as a means for safety. There are few moments that compare to that first nerve-wracking moment you move out on your own. It was more than just a safety precaution—it was a token of love, a reminder of the bond she shared with her mom. Now, Allison handcrafts necklaces with the same multi-faceted purpose. Her designs are made with various types of whistles meant not only to make totally unique pieces of jewelry, but also to provide a sense of protection, and to carry a story—what the story tells is up to you.
"Whistles are unique, historical and functional. I began a collection over two decades ago - intrigued by the stories and variety. BLO Vintage combines whistle-blowing with style, blending design, history with personal protection."
Each design incorporates a vintage or antique whistle, harmonica or pitch pipe, varying from a beautifully crafted railroad station Masters's whistle, circa 19th century England, to a petite, sweet-sounding sterling silver toy whistle from America in the 70s. Designed with a sense of whimsy and combining form with function, BLO Vintage offers a truly unique experience for the wearer. Through her extraordinary line of one of kind pieces, Allison designs each piece out of her Atlanta-based studio, using a variety of mixed metals, rich deerskins, vintage silks and organic stones which are all blended to enhance the dynamic history of each piece, each singing with a personality and a story of its own.
